Exemestane

Exemestane (Aromasine) is a drug of the aromatase inhibitor group that reduces the production of estrogen in the body. This drug is approved in the USA and is used in the treatment of breast cancer. In bodybuilding, Aromasin (Exemestane) is used on a steroid cycle to reduce the aroma effect (conversion of testosterone to estrogen) when taking anabolic hormonal preparations.

Exemestane effects

Aromasin is approved by the FDA as a treatment for breast cancer in post-menopausal patients who were unsuccessfully treated with tamoxifen. Athletes use this drug for its intended purpose, in order to block the side effects that are associated with taking aromatizing AAS. As a rule, it is gynecomastia, water retention and fat gain. Sometimes aromatase inhibitors can affect the reduction of body fat and improve the drawing of muscles.

If you take Finasteride in parallel, you can minimize the manifestation of side effects that are associated with the use of bundles of highly aromatizing drugs and drugs that turn into dihydrotestosterone. Due to the fact that the excess water is gone, the quality of the muscles will improve.

Despite this, there are problems with the use of aromatase inhibitors, as well as the long-term use of any other drug. Exemestan very well reduces the manifestation of estrogenic side effects, while blocking the beneficial properties of estrogen, including, inhibits “good” cholesterol. Tamoxifen only blocks estrogen receptors, therefore it is preferable when there are problems with the cardiovascular system.

Side effects of Exemestane

Side effects of Exemestane can occur quite often and to varying degrees. So, an athlete can face such unpleasant consequences as:

• nausea
• fatigue
• excessive sweating,
• dizziness and headache,
• skin rash,
• insomnia, etc.

In one athlete, side effects can manifest themselves intensively, and in another, the use of the drug can be completely painless. It all depends on the individual sensitivity of the person to the active substance of the drug. But, as a rule, when the recommended dosage is observed, the side effects of Aromasin do not appear at all, or appear to a minor extent.

Use of exemestane

Reception (for men)

In order to mitigate the estrogenic side effects of anabolic / androgenic steroids or to increase muscle relief, male athletes usually take 12.5-25 mg of Aromasin per day. Sometimes to prevent the development of estrogenic side effects, it is enough to take half a tablet (12.5 mg) every other day.

Reception (for women)

Women should take this medication strictly for medical reasons. Therapy should begin 2-3 years after the end of treatment with Tamoxifen, if it is ineffective. Treatment with exemestane is continued for the next 2–3 years, it is stopped after 5 years of cumulative additional drug therapy (when combined with Tamoxifen and Exemestane). In all cases, appoint one 25 mg tablet per day after eating.
